Yvan le Bellec, Synthesis Director and BIM Manager at ALTO Ingénierie, talks about the Cinetika project and his experience with AxeoBIM.
Hello, could you introduce yourself and your structure?
Hello Yvan Le Bellec, I have been working at ALTO Ingénierie since 2012.
ALTO Ingénierie will celebrate its 30th anniversary next October. Today, there are 75 employees in 3 agencies: one in Marne-la-Vallée, the company's headquarters, with 40-50 employees, one in Lyon and one in Bordeaux, with about 15 employees each.
Historically, we are an engineering and design company specialized in theatres and opera houses. In 2003, we started to develop on the Environment subject. We have 3 fluid engineering divisions, essentially dedicated to the design of offices and housing. The Environment division manages the environmental management and follows up on certifications and labels, and the Construction division manages site monitoring.
We have developed the production part, especially with more and more projects in BIM since 2013: Lascaux IV, École Centrale Paris, for example.
For my part, I am self-taught. I did two years of apprenticeship at ALTO Ingénierie after the BAC and then I did my classes there between 1999 and 2005. I've been doing synthesis since 2005, and then I did some EXE. Since I came back to ALTO Ingénierie, I do almost only synthesis and little project management.
Can you tell us more about the Cinetika project?
The project consists of an 8,000m2 office building with 20 residential units, located in Saint-Ouen. The project owner is SCCV Les Sources. The architectural office (and co-contractor working on the project) is DGM & Associes Architectes.
For the synthesis part, it was planned to finish it at the end of June. In view of the context, it will be postponed until September. After that, there will be the whole phase of the building site, they are in the process of doing the structural work, the technical bodies have not yet intervened, so we are doing everything so that the structural work will have all the elements in time at the level of the reservations.
There were no sticking points with using the platform on this project. We have always found solutions to problems.
How did you discover AxeoBIM?
I discovered AxeoBIM in 2017. BNP Paribas asked us to respond to the project for the synthesis and BIM management part and to integrate the plan cabinets. The client knew AxeoBIM well and he was the one who recommended this solution for the project. Afterwards, we finally set up a framework contract with AxeoBIM.
It was essential for us to be able to give all our collaborators access to all our models and project documents without going through Revit or other viewers. The AxeoBIM collaboration platform was the right support.
