Building information modeling(BIM) means building data modeling. BIM serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and data throughout the construction value chain, as well as a decision support tool during the life cycle of a project. It allows for the centralization of a wealth of data that is operated or evaluated by humans asynchronously, rather than in real or near-real time.
